One of my favorite things to take to cook outs, picnics, back yard get togethers is a pot of baked beans. You can double this recipe for a big turn out.
2- 15oz. cans Navy or Pinto Beans 1 cup green pepper chopped fine 1 cup Yellow onion chopped fine 1/4 cup Turbinado or Organic Sucanat 1/4 cup Molasses 1/4 tsp. each Cinnamon and Nutmeg
*Put Turbinado, Molasses, cinnamon and nutmeg in casserole dish and mix. *Add beans and mix again.
Bake in oven at 325 for 2 hours stirring occasionally.

Voted. Great recipe! I have only had baked beans from a can before, so I must try making my own, thanks for this.

It's better with brown sugar but don't tell any vegan I said that. Shh!

I adore baked beans and yes vegan brown sugar is actually better in this one Ido have to agree with you on this. Vegan has a raw brown sugar that I love to use in my beans.

That's for me then. My co-op guy didn't tell me about it. Grrr!
