This may sound big for the veggie people. The fast food delivery giant Pizza Hut has just entered the plant-based diets. Pizza Hut is the latest fast-food chain to join the vegan cheese bandwagon.
Pizza Hut made its first step in the vegan world when it added a new vegan cheese option on its menu last October. However, Pizza Hut is not joining the vegan party alone; it’s also making a big partnership. And this time, it’s about a big and more vegan-focused company, called Violife. This vegan company has prominently featured in over 400 Pizza locations in Canada.
About the Pizza Hut's new vegan cheese option
The new vegan cheese option will cater to customers who abstain from eating all animals products, including eggs and honey. But instead of using the traditional cheese, Pizza Hut has come out with its own "cheese", a new dairy-free Violife-developed cheese.
The food chain has decided to pick Violife, a giant of the dairy-free cheese game. The company has made a huge headline in the market when it introduced its non-diary vegan halloumi replica.
Unfortunately, Pizza Hut’s new vegan option will be served only in the company’s five locations in the UK market. These are the Canterbury, Thanet, Bluewater, Crawley, and Chatham. The Pizza vegan feast has started on October 5th and will run until November 26th of this year only. The vegan cheese option will also not be available for food delivery.
With vegan foods and plant-based diets on the rise in the US and now the UK, it always good to know that companies like Pizza Hut are stepping up to join the party. The company has already been praised by several animal right activist organizations for its innovative plant-based options. For some vegans, Pizza Hut is a godsend.
