This DIY body scrub recipe will leave your skin feeling so soft.
It's really important to exfoliate your skin every now and again to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores.
I love using this DIY scrub towards the end of a really long, hot shower - this way all of your pores have opened up, which makes it easier to remove dirt and cleanse.
Let's get to it!
This is a super easy DIY - it's only 3 ingredients!
The basic scrub recipe is:
- Oil (1 & 1/2 tablespoon) - olive oil and coconut oil work great, these help to hydrate the skin while you exfoliate
- Exfoliant (2 tablespoons) - you can choose either sea salt or sugar (I personally like sugar more, it's better for sensitive skin)
- Essential oil of your choice (just a few drops) - this is the fun part where you can choose the scent of your scrub. There are so many different oils to choose from. If you like citrus scents there are a variety of different oils like orange or lemongrass that smell amazing. I also love using a ylang ylang scented essential oil and mixing it with a rose scented essential oil. Just dig around your local Whole Foods supermarket and pick up some scents that you like.
Once you've combined all 3 of these ingredients into a sort of paste consistency you can store the mixture in an airtight jar or container that can be brought into the shower. Continue your normal shower routine and towards the end you can scoop some of the scrub into your hand and rub it all over your arms and legs leaving them feeling so silky smooth - this recipe is so fantastic, quick, and easy. Not to mention much cheaper and more natural than a store bought body scrub filled with chemicals.
If you want a larger amount to store for a long time in your shower just double up on the ingredients!!
