I got introduced to Tempeh only recently upon moving to the United States. In my quest to try more and more vegetarian recipes, this one is a new addition to my kitchen. Tempeh is made through a process that binds soybeans together into a cake shape. It’s a good source of protein, vitamins and dietary fiber and is easy to cook too.
This is a recipe I made with Tempeh in Indian style. I used organic Tempeh for this recipe and the Indian spices gave it a lovely flavor. If you like Indian food, this one is definitely a recommendation.
Ingredients (serves 2-3):
• 1 pack organic Tempeh
• 1 red Onion thin sliced
• 1 cup Green Beans chopped
• 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
• ½ teaspoon Turmeric
• 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
• 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
• Salt to taste
• Black Pepper to taste
Thin slice a red onion, chop green beans, and shred the tempeh then keep aside. Take a pan and heat one tablespoon oil. Add the cumin seeds. Then add chopped green beans and onions. Add the turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt. Stir and let it cook for about 5-7 minutes till beans are soft.
Now add the shredded tempeh, grind a little black pepper, stir and allow it to cook on low heat for about 7-10 minutes so that all the veggies are nicely cooked and the spices are mixed well.
Serve hot with an Indian bread like roti or nan! You can also top it on a brown bread toast and enjoy for lunch or dinner.

#12. This one is very good, especially since it's organic Tempeh. I think this would go well with stir frying too. In that, the oil goes to the bottom, so that you are not getting it all in your food and it is very tasty too.

Thanks...yes organic is good. Stir fry is good too...the spices in this one are Indian which give it a great flavor...do try it if you like...:)
