Some people think that the days of most vegans are filled with making delicious smoothies in our Vitamix blenders (don’t forget the kale and the coconut oil), rescuing animals (“legally” or not…), and participating in other social justice activities like protests, leafleting, and organizing screenings of Forks Over Knives.
Even after all of this activism and such theoretically joy-filled days, because vegans have increased energy levels (thanks to our plant-based diets), we still are more than happy for a roll in the hay come nightfall. (Or morning. Or afternoon. Or really whenever.) In fact, vegans have been said to have increased sex-drives. Foods with large levels of zinc and vitamin B complexes, such as basil, figs, pine nuts, avocado, almonds, asparagus, celery, pumpkin seeds, chickpeas, and bananas, have been found to increase testosterone levels, which increases libido.
For you males, a plant-based diet increases blood flow, leading to longer erections. “Cutting meat and dairy products out of your diet is a great way to lower your cholesterol and blood pressure naturally and help get your equipment back in working condition,” according to People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). For the ladies, plant-based foods can naturally increase personal lubrication, because of the high water content in fruits and vegetables that keep the body hydrated.
Perhaps another factor of why vegans do it better, is that there is increasingly powerful research showing that vegans taste better. Eating animal products can make your bodily fluids taste more acidic, thus, eating more fruit can make your fluids sweet. Vegans also tend to be healthier, slimmer, and more comfortable with their bodies. Vegans and non-vegans alike can agree that confidence is sexy.
Before you get your Vitamin F, make sure you use protection. Furthermore, use a vegan condom. That’s right – many condoms, including major brands like Trojan and Durex, contain casein, which comes from curdled milk. Eww. You don’t need that in the most sacred part of your temple. Try out Glyde or Sir Richard’s Brands – both are certified vegan and do not test on animals. You can get these brands at some major grocery store chains, as well as online from amazon or sites like Veganessentials.com.
If you're not already vegan, consider trying it out to better your sex life, or find a vegan partner of your own, to test it out. Now, go forth and conquer! (And by conquer, I mean spread your lovin’ in consensual, mutually-beneficial and positive ways.)
