Sundae, derived from the German word, Sonntag, which means Sunday, is just a different spelling for Sunday. There are many versions of a sundae, depending on which ice cream flavor is used as well as what is added as toppings, which include the classic ice cream sundae, fresh fruit sundae, heat sauce sundae, hot fudge sundae, double fudge sundae, caramel sundae, turtle sundae, butterscotch sundae, peanut butter sundae, brownie sundae, blondie sundae, banana split, American parfait, and knickerbocker glory.
Ingredients for a sundae include:
One scoop of Vegan ice cream
Sauce or syrup of your choice, whether melted chocolate, carob, butterscotch, homemade jam, peanut butter, other nut butter, maple syrup, shredded coconut, granola, or caramel. Or, if you don't want to use sauce or syrup, then use chopped or sliced fresh fruit, instead, as an ice cream sundae topping. Popular fruit toppings include strawberries, raspberries, peach, blueberries, blackberries, mixed berries, boysenberries, bananas, pineapple, or kiwis.
Vegan whipped cream
Chopped nuts of your choice, whether one particular nut, or mixed nuts
Brew one cup of espresso coffee. You can try a different coffee flavor each time you make your sundae.
Using a French Coffee Press, brew a cup of coffee. Place two tablespoons of coarse ground coffee in the Coffee Press. Add one cup of boiling water, press lever down, and leave for five minutes.
Depending on which sundae you want to create, place one scoop of Vegan ice cream in a bowl or glass. Pour one cup of hot coffee over it. Then, add whipped cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, and your choice of toppings or the specific toppings of the sundae you want to create. For the finale, add one cherry on top.
