In the world of mass production, unethical practices and a lack of information about the provenance of products, it is difficult to shop online knowing that what you are buying is good for the planet and has been ethically made. That is why, my partner, Imogen, and I (Ed) have set up Wearth London, a new online store for brands which have strong environmental values and are completely vegan-friendly.
We are both in our early twenties and our main aim is to promote sustainable living in the UK by creating a store which brings together a range of products making it easier to shop consciously online. Across all our departments our focus is on protecting the planet, animals, as well as workers.

A good example of our efforts to be eco-friendly and ethical is our natural beauty department which is full of brands who make their cruelty free products by hand using only natural and organic ingredients in small batches in the UK. Every product is also housed in reusable and recyclable glass packaging, keeping the amount of plastic we use to a complete minimum.
Likewise, our furniture department only has UK makers who create their pieces by hand using reclaimed or sustainably sourced materials. For example, small independent furniture maker, Bettzy, make all of their furniture in Hertfordshire using locally sourced recycled scaffold wood.
On our store, we also want to make it easier for you to shop for your values. This is why we have our shop by values page where for example you can buy products which are only made in the UK or are plastic free.
We have worked hard for over a year researching the best products to make eco and ethical living easier in the UK. We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved, now we’re trying to raise awareness of our store and the amazing brands that we have got on there.
