Simple Avocado Gelato

This is one of the easiest recipes ever, and if you love avocados in desserts, this recipe is for you!

Most gelato recipes contain milk but lucky for us, avocados are naturally creamy so there is no need for any dairy or milk alternative.

While wandering around some touristy areas, I noticed that gelato (and sorbetto) costs a fortune! This recipe is quite inexpensive to make, since the main expense is in the avocados, which are much cheaper than one scoop of gelato!

For 1L of gelato

2 ripe avocados

2 cups cold water

sugar (or sweetener to taste)

Freezer proof container

Scoop the avocados into a blender, add the sugar and water and blend into a beautiful green paste. You can actually drink this as an avocado shake at this point, or you can be a good person and finish the recipe ;)

Pour the delicious paste into a freezer proof container and pop it into the freezer for two hours.

Remove and stir. It will most likely be slush at this point, and the stirring will break up some solid pieces making it easier to scoop later on.

Return the container to the freezer and chill for several more hours.

Remove it once again and it is now ready to serve.

Amazing and so easy to prepare. We have a lot of avocado trees here on our land and have more avocados than we know what to do with. We give them away and prepare and eat avocados for around 5 months when they start coming in. This is an excellent idea and I will try this one tomorrow. I have some very ripe avocados that need to be used up. Thank you so much. Voted You might like my new post I did today. Cauliflower Coconut Milk and Almond Island Melody please stop by and check it out. Thanks I am fixing my post from yesterday because it was called to my attention that the Almond Parmesan a close friend of mine gave me was on another site on the Internet. I do not want to keep the post up with duplicate copy and will decide on how to link to this site so people can still make this one. Thanks you and love your recipe.

On our family land where we grow food there is 8 Mango trees, 6 avocado trees, 40 papaya trees there. My nephew farms there and sells to the local stores but he always brings home bucket fulls of them for us at home. So starting around September to Feb we have plenty here for us. The new fruit is setting again and should be ready in a few more weeks. Then the cycle will start again. We have a month or two where we allow the smaller fruit to grow and do not pick this. Same with mangos here we pick only the larger ripe ones to sell to the local markets. We allow the smaller fruit to grow and become ripe on the trees. That is how people like it here the best. Well Tahiti is a wonderful place and there are many islands to live on. I am sure there would be room for a few more people to come here to live.

Voted. Wow, love this! Simple and so few ingredients, just what I like. I also adore avos, but have never tried them in a dessert, although I have found cake recipes, for example, which use avocado in place of the usual fat.
