Oats are amazing foods! Oats are complex carbohydrates that have been seen to have such health benefits as weight control and even cholesterol reducing. Typically, oatmeal is cooked in boiling water or milks (plant milks for the record). But it takes time and planning to cook, or maybe you want some variety!
I make my oatmeal raw. Easily, I take a cup of oats (either quick or rolled)- instead of the measly 1/2 cup typically used in cooking oatmeal- and mix it with equal parts of plant milk. The oats will absorb the liquid over night, or if you in a bind only about 20 minutes. The end result, as you see in the picture of this article is the same as cooked oatmeal!
As a bonus I add in chia seeds, or flax seeds, and a cup of fruit to get even more nutrients along with the oats. Hope you enjoy this, as always I hope you click like, and feel free to follow me for more recipies and aticles =)
