"Pink" Lemonade

On my recent trip to Canada, there were days that were sweltering hot, when I longed for a refreshing drink. Although there was your typical water, club soda, and iced tea tsomething special would have been nice. Even though I didn't create this yummy drink on my vacation, I saw it afterwards on Martha Stewart's site and knew it would have been the perfect thing to sip on a hot, Canadian day.

Ingredients       makes 3 quarts

1 cup of organic granulated sugar

2 1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice

1 1/2 cups of organic superfine sugar

2 cups of cranberry juice

Bring granulated sugar and 1 cup of water to a boil in a medium pan over high heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate until chilled. Add lemon juice, superfine sugar, cranberry juice, and 1/2 quart of water in a serving container and stir until sugar is dissolved.

So that's how you get organic sugar to dissolve in drinks. Why didn't I think of that? THanks for the idea! Voted! If you want, check out my article, They Say It's Misplaced Pride, and vote for me too!

it sounds sweet. i wonder if agave can be substituted instead of sugar, and what would agave in lemonade taste like.
    1. evalovesbend
Thanks Fifi Leigh! Although I have never tried it, I'm sure agave would work.

It sounds deliciously refreshing. I presume it is a still lemonade then, rather than a sparkling one? You could make it fizzy by adding soda (selzer) water I suppose. I am out of votes for now, but I will definitely come back and vote tomorrow. Thanks for your vote on my ricotta recipe, btw!

Thank you Veganara! It is not meant to be sparkling but I'm sure that would taste great too!
