Instagram and Twitter are flooded with pictures of Kim Kardashian swimming with contained dolphins and kissing a sea lion. PETA believes that touch and swim tanks expose dolphins and other animals to needless bacteria along with stressful poking and prodding. In 2012, a concerned citizen tossed flour on the celebrity for wearing a fur. A spokesperson for PETA states, “Kim Kardashian is intrusive, dangerous and just plain harmful to animals.”
Perhaps the celebrity believes that all publicity is good. Kim claims on Instagram that the swim, which occurred on a vacation in Mexico, was carefree. While Kim was free to leave at her leisure, the dolphins are held captive in tanks, which is a far cry from the carefree swim displayed to the public.
The captive dolphins are rarely returned to freedom. The dolphins in these tourist driven attractions often die prematurely. Debris and trash left near the tanks may be ingested by the dolphins resulting in gastrointestinal problems. Lengthy operational hours by the greedy facilities do not allow the animal much relaxation time.
In 2012, a concerned citizen tossed flour on Kardashian for wearing a fur. PETA voiced opinions about Kim’s lack of concern for animals after the incident. In retaliation, Khloe Kardashian pulled her support from PETA. Khloe complained PETA’s voicing of concerns amounted to the bullying of her sister.
The lack of concern for animals runs in the family. Kris Jenner, mother of the clan, was observed swimming with a sea lion on the estate of Joe Francis. And then there was the incident of Kim’s python boots, which did not escape PETA’s watchful eye. The $5,495 Christian Louboutin boots are actually illegal in the celebrity’s home state of California.
The father of her child, Kanye West, enjoys wearing fur as well. A spokesperson for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Wendy Wegner, compares Kim to the Disney villain, Cruella de Vil. PETA sent Kim and Kanye a faux fur throw as an engagement present in 2013. PETA hoped the pair would find the faux a safe alternative to animal furs. Unfortunately, the gift has not persuaded the couple to alter their lifestyle choices.

I guess Kim and Kanye believe that all publicity good or bad is at least publicity!
-
She is an entertainer. I do not believe that swimming with Dolphins endangers them but that's just me.
-
Thanks for the comment Charlotte! PETA believes that it exposes the dolphins to bacteria by humans. The dolphins are not immuned to many bacteria humans carry. Also, the fact that the dolphins are held captive.

Btw I can see where they find wearing fur offensive but swimming with Dolphins...not so much.
-
It's a shame that the Kardashions are all about money, beauty and show with no regard for animal life.
-
Susan, that is definitely the side Kim Kardashian is displaying to the public! Thanks for the vote and comment!

Great article. I love the dolphins and have always wanted to swim with them. Of course, I wouldn't want to hurt them though.
