My last few blogs were based upon nutrition and vegan eating. What makes one holistic is nutrition combined with mind, spirit and body. The bottom line is that everyone needs to move to live a longer and better quality life.
Exercising is the best way to move, combined with both cardio and resistance training for both men and women. Before you start any exercise program, check with your doctor to see what you can do, at first.
Exercise to get healthier, should be done at least three times a week for beginners, for 30mins-1hour. You start with a six to ten minute cardio warm up. Then do your resistance training or cardio. In the end, do static stretches for your warm down.
Advanced people should exercise one to two hours each time, 5 days a week. Not everyone likes to exercise. That's ok. In the end, your results combined with how you feel and look are your motivation to keep this going for yourself.
I you would rather exercise at home, than join your local gym, there is a lot that you can do there. You can do exercise DVDs. You also can take a walk by walking your dogs. Or walking with a friend or yourself. Walking is recommended by the American Heart Association and is good cardio exercise.
If you like to dance, Zumba is the way to go for exercise. With Zumba, you get full cardio and resistance training as well. Spin is another excellent cardio and resistance training class. Running is also a good cardio exercise. All of this is endurance training as well.
Either way, put yourself first and pick something for yourself that you like to do for exercise. No two people are the same. The bottom line is that you want to be there for your kids (whether they are human or fur children).
After too many years of being a couch potato or not moving, your body begins to shut down usually beginning with diseases of the colon first. Exercising with proper nutrition, goes a long way for the detoxing that your body needs to heal for you to live a better quality and longer life as a result. Then you have all the tools to whatever you want in your life.
