India is famous for its street food which better known as soul food. From north India to south India there are varieties of street food that vary from region to region depending on the seasonal produce that is cultivated in the area. Today in this article I am going to share a favorite north Indian recipe of healthy vegan nuggets (which are known as aloo tikki in India) it is one of the most popular snacks in India that one can find at every occasion and for everyday dinners as well. It is one of those dishes which is not very expensive, it can be quickly prepared and can be enjoyed at anywhere. The dish is prepared using potatoes and veggies. I am using my favorite veggies; you can add your favorite veggies and can customize this dish according to your preferences.
So let's get started with this simple and healthy recipe.
INGREDIENTS
• 3 Potatoes, boiled and peeled
• 1⁄2 finely chopped onion
• 3⁄4 cup frozen peas
• 1 tsp chili powder
• 2 tsp cumin powder
• 4 table spoon flour
• Handful of cilantro leaves
DIRECTIONS:
STEP 1: Take the boiled and peeled potatoes in a bowl and mash them.
STEP 2: Now add the chopped onions, frozen peas, chopped bell pepper, cilantro and mix them together.
STEP 3: Then add the salt, cumin powder, chili powder and flour to the mixture.
STEP 4: Make a small patty of around 2-3 inches diameter. Once you make a couple of them you will get the hang of the perfect shape.
STEP 5: Heat some oil in a pan. And fry the nuggets for a few minutes until the color turns to golden brown on each side.
STEP 6: Drain the excess oil from the nuggets on tissue paper napkins.
STEP 7: Serve these nuggets with sauce or tangy chutney.
I prefer serving these vegan nuggets piping hot, you should do the same.
