Guava is a popular tropical fruit rich in antioxidants, vitamins and fiber. It’s packed with nutritional benefits and is a great tasting fruit. Combine this with the energy fruit banana and you get a great tasting and super healthy salad.
I’ve added sliced almonds because I love the crunchiness they bring along with the lovely flavor you get by combining the fruits with almonds. You can also add any of your other favorite nuts. This salad works great for Sunday mornings or packed for a late afternoon snack.
Ingredients (Serves 2):
• 3-4 Guavas diced
• 2 Bananas chopped
• 1 tablespoon sliced Almonds
• 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
• 1 tablespoon Honey
• Salt to taste
• Black pepper to taste
• 1 tablespoon Raisins (optional)
Dice the guavas and the bananas into a bowl. You can use yellow or green guavas of your choice. I generally like to use semi-hard guavas. Here I’ve used yellow guavas.
Add the honey and lemon juice and mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle the sliced almonds on top. If you’re a raisins fan feel free to add them too. And a yummy nutritious salad is ready to serve.
You can avoid the sweet and have it only salty. Just skip the honey and raisins. Works just as well with extra lemon juice!
