I absolutely love baking and cooking for my family and friends. Last weekend, I tried my hand at baking some healthy snacks. Since I am a vegan, I needed to find a good source of protein in my regular diet. One of the snacks were gluten-free seeded crackers. The recipe is very easy and anyone can follow it. These seeded crackers are healthy and everyone just loves them. So let’s get started with this simple recipe.
- 1 cup of gluten-free flour blend
- 4 tablespoons of hemp seed hearts
- 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/3 cup of cold water
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
- A pinch of salt
Step 1: First you will have to preheat your oven to about 300 degrees.
Step 2: Next, you can line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or olive oil.
Step3: Now, take a large bowl and whisk together flour, sesame seeds, hemp seed hearts, chia seeds, baking powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt.
Step 4: Next, add some water, oil, and maple syrup.
Step 5: You have to stir the mixture until the dough combines properly.
Step 6: If the dough seems dry, feel free to add some cold water. This could be about a teaspoon or two.
Step 7: Now, you have to put the dough onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Step 8: Take another parchment paper and place it on top of the dough.
Step 9: Roll out the dough to a very thin layer.
Step 10: Now, slowly remove the top sheet of parchment paper.
Step 11: Take a knife and cut the layer into small rectangles. Now you can sprinkle a bit of salt.
Step 12: Bake the crackers in the oven for about 15 minutes till they are a nice golden brown.
Step 13: Remove crackers from the oven and place them aside to cool down.
Once they have cooled down, you can store your crackers in an airtight container and eat them with a tasty vegan dip whenever you like!
