The Flaming Vegan site is for the v-curious, novice vegan, as well as the established vegan. Many v-curious and novice vegans may ask the question, "What can I eat in a typical day on a vegan menu?" The established vegan may be interested in some new food ideas.
Breakfast Ideas
- Smoothies made from yogurt, choice of fruit and perhaps almonds or choice of other nut.
- Breakfast casserole using your favorite recipe, but substitute vegan cheese and vegan sausage.
- Blueberry and banana pancakes using whole-wheat flour and rice or almond milk.
- Bran muffins made by substituting with almond milk and consider adding nuts.
On-the-Go Lunch Ideas
- Place washed, peeled, and cut up raw vegetables in a sealable container with a vegan dip.
- Consider packing nutritious fortified cereal in a cup shaped sealable container and placing rice or almond milk in an insulated thermos.
- Substitute pita pockets for standard loaf bread for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
- Fruit and nut muffins are a great addition for an on-the go lunch.
Dinner Ideas
- Place dried beans in a crockpot with water, your favorite seasoning and allow to cook all day.
- Substitute tempeh for hamburger meat in a sloppy joe. It is similar to a chicken nugget in consistency and has a nutty flavor.
- Whole-wheat pasta with peanut sauce is a great dinner idea.
- Red beans and rice with Cajun seasonings is quick and easy.

I eat raw- organic oatmeal with the works every morning with a fruit & veggie smoothies.. I hardly ever use yogurt.. unless its non-dairy and non-soy. I found a good almond and coconut yogurt! It's yummy! since I've been vegan, i have realized that yogurt was my enemy.. wreaking havoc on my body! I eat lots of veggie's for lunch.. raw and cooked.. we eat lots and lots of burritos.. mixed with beans, rice, quinoa, and veggies on Live sprouted tortillas. I also love my organic peanut butter or almond butter sandwiches.. with organic fruit spreads. We love lots of homemade soups... vegan of course.. salads are boring-but we spruce em up with lots of different veggies- nuts and seeds. WE add flax seeds, hemp seeds and chia seeds to all our meals for omega's and protein. We drink lots and lots of water out of glass bottles.. I add lemons, limes and raw organic vinegar to my first cup for detoxing purposes.. then lemon, lime, pomegranate, and raspberries to my water the rest of the day.(It's like making your own mineral water!) Water is so important for all- It's hydrating and feeds the bones and blood. -Thanks for posting.. Voted and shared! :)

Just want to make sure you are aware that ordinary yoghurt is not vegan... right? You mention substitutes for everything but that. It's dairy, after all...
