Floral Avocado Smoothie

This drink is all about green. It looks green, it smells green, it feels green, and it fills your body with green happiness.

I first encountered the basic avocado smoothie made with condensed milk in a Vietnamese restaurant. I loved it, but I wanted to taste the Avocado, not the milk. Two decades later, through trial and error I have discovered the most beautiful blend for the avocado smoothie that brings a delightful floral aroma and flavour to it. This is what you need:

One Avocado (per person).

One small banana for sweetness.

2 cups chilled kaffir lime leaf water. To make this, add six leaves per litre of boiled water, steep into a lime leaf tea, and let it chill in the fridge before adding it to the smoothie. Kaffir Lime leaves are available at most Vietnamese/Thai grocery stores.

Sugar to taste.

Blend all the ingredients together. Serve. It’s that easy! .

I sometimes have this drink as a meal because it is very filling.

*If you have a hard time finding Kaffir Lime Leaves, using filtered water also does the trick. But the lime water adds a yummy floral bonus.

Wow, I am very surprised by the floral aroma and taste of this smoothie. It's almost like drinking a flower (not strong like perfume, but gentle). It also has a nice aftertaste, though I think if you have some left over, it's good to stir it up again or the keffir lime leaf gets a bit tangy. Yum, thanks for the unusual concoction!

I'm glad to hear that you enjoy this drink! Like all teas, when the leaves steep for an extended period they become quite strong. Its best to drink this right after its blended.

Vote no 10. I love avocadoes, so I am sure I would love this! And the opening lines of this blog are great as well, as Akanksha says! Very evocative. I have just posted a blog called Fatburning Fruits which you may like (if you do, please vote!)
