This is an amazing movie! It shows how animals in our society and around the world suffer needlessly. It not only exposes the horrors of slaughter houses, but also the the fur and leather trade, circuses, animals used for medical research, and much more. The footage in this movie is all actual footage shot in slaughter house (ones for food, fur, and leather), circuses, research labs, fishing boats, and more.
The movie is narrated by Joaquin Phoenix, and he does an increadable job. I was impressed with the way he spoke without anger and hatred for the people commiting these atrocities, but with compassion and love for the animals being abused. To quote Woody Harrelson "This is the single most powerful and informative movie about society's treatment of animals".

disturbing and very important information, but very hard to watch.

This movie was the hardest thing I have every watched. I was heart broken and in tears through out the movie, but I felt that it was important to see. I have shared the knowledge I gained from that movie with anyone willing to listen, and to me if that helps one more person see the truth about the suffering of animals raised for food it was worth it.
