Delicious Vegan Chocolate Pie In 7 Steps

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

We’ve all had chocolate cravings at some point of time or the other. What better way to curb the craving than preparing your own chocolate pie at home? Well, last week I tried making chocolate pie at home and it turned out pretty good, so I thought of sharing this recipe with you all. This chocolate pie is a combination of a thick crunchy crust and a very smooth chocolate filling. It is absolutely easy to make and anyone can prepare it within no time. Here is a list of the ingredients that are required to prepare this delicious vegan chocolate pie.

Ingredients:

For the crust:

·         2 cups of almond powder

·         Pinch of salt

·         1 tablespoon of maple syrup

·         2 tablespoons of coconut oil

For the chocolate filling:

·         3 cups of coconut milk

·         ½ cup of sugar

·         1 tablespoon of cocoa powder

·         1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

·         2 to 3 tablespoons of water

·         2 teaspoons of agar agar flakes

Method:

Step 1: Pre-heat the oven to 300 degrees.

Step 2: Now, add the almond powder, coconut oil, maple syrup and a pinch of salt to a bowl. Add some water and mix all the ingredients together, until you get a dough-like mixture. Knead the mixture until you get a thick consistency.

Step 3: Grease the baking tray with some oil and put the dough in a baking tray. Spread the dough evenly to form a crust. Let the crust bake for 10 minutes till that time, let's prepare the filling.

Step 4: Remove the crust and let it cool for some time.

Step 5: Take the almond milk, agar agar flakes, sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla essence and put them in a food processor. Now process it until you get a smooth paste out of the mixture. If required, you can add a little water.

Step 6: Now pour the filling on the crust and let the filling settle on the crust.

Step 7: Let the pie cool down and then you can keep it the fridge for 4-5 hours.

You can garnish the pie with whipped cream or chocolate chips. Hope you like the recipe!

Looks delicious :) Have you ever tried mixing the filling by hand rather than with a food processor? Mine's lent out right now but I can't wait to try this pie!

Thank you :) I haven't really tried mixing the filling by hand, but you could try it if you've done something like this before. Do let me know how it turns out :)
