So this weekend I made this awesome rice with cumin seeds and it turned out just absolutely gorgeous. I had eaten cumin rice previously at a restaurant a few days back and thought of trying my own version in my kitchen. Cumin seeds and turmeric I think are amazing herbs that make plain rice taste magically delicious.
All you need is:
a) 1 cup rice cooked
b) 1 ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
c) 1 red onion chopped
d) 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
e) Salt
f) 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
g) 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
h) water
In a pan pour a little oil. First add the cumin seeds and onions. Give it a light stir and leave it for about one minute. Next add rice, salt, turmeric powder, black pepper and cayenne pepper. Pour in 3 cups of water. Give it a light stir and let the rice cook.
Open a can of black beans or top with green peppers lightly seasoned. Enjoy the delicous cumin rice.
