I slept like a baby last night. But early this morning, I had a rude awakening with a cramp in my back and stomach. Moments later, my calf also tightened.
It brought me back to my college years when I'd be awaken by nasty cramps which usually forced cries from my lips and tears streaming down my face. That's how painful those were.
Anyhow, this I watched carefully. This is one side effect of this trip I am not going to miss.
My diarrhea still lingers, but it's not as intense as it was yesterday.
Temptation all around me
There were moments today when I was faced with the foods I usually wolfed-down. In fact, one of my favorites is the raw fish, sashimi, which has conveniently found itself on plates in the kitchen everytime I passed by.
Downtown, I noticed more stronger aroma from the barbeque grills today. It might be the empty stomach flexing its muscles all the way up into the senses. But my water bottle is ever ready nearby to douse the hunger pangs.
Today I drank two and half gallons of water again. I added one liter of Minute Maid for safety measures as cramps still ball-up now and then all around my body.
Banana smoothie for the first leg of journey
During lunch today, I treated myself to a banana smoothie to celebrate the accomplishment of my first goal— completing the first leg of my journey.
Tomorrow begins the "Juicing Phase". I simply cannot wait. I'm so excited all over again... I'm actually enjoying this very much!
See you tomorrow!

I used to have horrible cramps in the bottoms of my feet when I jogged almost ten miles a day. Also, did you know that bananas can be a diuretic? My grandmother used to bake one for me when I was constipated. Worked like a charm. Another interesting blog. Voted.

Thanks so much. Now I'm going to work a banana into my juice... perhaps even a banana smoothie once or twice a week. -Alex
