I like to use local ingredients as much as possible. Considering Martinelli's famous apple cider gets smashed just down the road and I used to rent a cottage in the middle of one of their apple orchards, this recipe is one local shout-out for sure!
I'm not a huge fan of alcoholic beverages, especially in the heat of summer... they just put me to sleep! However, I am a fan of the lively flavors used in cocktails. Here I have created a mocktail that is simple, sensual and wildly refreshing. You won't need to nap after drinking one of these sparkling beauties, but you might need to dance!
Cranberry Herbal Sparkling Mocktail
- 2 cups Martinelli's Organic Cranberry-Apple Sparkling Cider
- 2 cups Sparkling Mineral Water of your choice
- 2 cups Cranberry Juice
- 2-4 sprigs Fresh Herbs (Mint, Basil, Thyme, Cilantro, Rosemary, Tarragon, Lavender)
- Float Fresh Cranberries for garnish (optional)
- 1 tbsp Agave Syrup (optional)
- Squeeze of Lime and Lime Slices (optional)
- 1-2 cups Ice (optional)
Add all ingredients to decorative pitcher or bowl, except for ice, and stir. Chill for 30 minutes. Add ice if desired and pour into glasses. Garnish with additional herb sprigs and/or fresh cranberries.
*Add lemony apple slices to the pitcher or bowl if you like. They make a beautiful edible garnish and bring out the apple flavor in the sparkling cider.
*Add fresh blueberries and serve on the Fourth of July!
*Also makes a great low-sugar float for kids of all ages. Make recipe as above but omit ice and use mint leaves instead of whole sprigs. Pour into serving glasses and float a scoop of fruit sorbet or vegan vanilla ice cream on top. Grab a straw and a spoon and an Mmm!

This looks nice. I'm not generally someone who goes for sparkling water, though, but at times I will crave something bubbly.

Vote #4! Sounds refreshing! Sorry, I've worked 4 straight days third shift and have just gotten around to reading.
