4 Hidden Benefits of Drinking Plenty of Water

People often hear how water is good for your health, but do not realize how important drinking water is to a person’s whole body. Water is one of the six kinds of nutrients the body needs on a daily basis. It might surprise you, but the human body needs water more than any of the other 5 nutrients (Protein, Carbohydrates, Fats, Vitamins, and Minerals).

Even if you dislike the taste of water, you could not live more than a couple of days without it. It makes sense especially since more than half of the weight in the body is water. Consuming water is also beneficial because it helps digest, absorb, and transfer nutrients on the body. This is why it is recommended that everyone should drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. Drinking 6-8 glasses of water might seem much, but a person decreases water from their body from urinating, sweating, bowel movements, and additional physiological functions.

By consuming water every day, it helps to achieve the following:

1) Fluid balance

2) Control body temperature

3) Loosen joints

4) Reduce and ease constipation
