Baked Sweet Potato Wedges!

Prep Time: 5 to 8 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Sweet potatoes are a great compliment to any dish, specially vegetables! I love to eat them with steamed vegetables or even as a main course. Sweet potatoes can be prepared in many ways, here is my favorite one:

For this dish you will need:


* 1 to 2 large sweet potatoes

* 1 tablespoon of olive oil

* Onion powder

* Garlic powder

* Cayenne Pepper

* Salt


* Peel (if you prefer not to peel, thats fine) and cut the potatoes into wedges. Place them in a bowl. Add the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper and salt. Mix well until all the potatoes are covered with the ingredients. Keep in mind that you are in control of how much you add. You might not like your potatoes too spicy, so just use less cayenne pepper.

*Now place the potato wedges on a flat baking pan. Make sure that there is at least one inch between the potatoes, that will allow them to get a little crispy. Put in oven. After 15 minutes flip the potatoes and put back in the oven for another 15 minutes. The potatoes should take no longer than 30 minutes to cook. When done, take them out and let them cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with your favorite herbs. I personally love to garnish the potatoes with basil and cilantro.

*Note: This dish could easily be turned into a delicious dessert! Instead of all the ingredients above, simply drizzle maple syrup over the potatoes and sprinkle lots of cinnamon! Bake for 30 minutes and done!
