Back from Europe

Let me begin by saying, I apologize for being away and not blogging~but it's been absolutely crazy here (yet again)  But I'm back and trying to blog regularly again.  LOL!  Oh such is my life!

...Europe was absolutely AMAZING!  We flew first class both ways, and I had the BEST vegan food on Delta's flights both ways (and no, we did not have needles in our food!  LOL)  ...let me digress a bit, to remind everyone of what I'd doing.

I am borderline Vegan.  I eat Vegan when I am home, and as much as I can when I'm out.  If I'm in a situation to where I can't eat Vegan, I'll go lacto-ovo-Vegetarian.  This is just until I'm well versed in Veganism to go full Vegan when I'm out....remember, I'm in transition...LOL!

Okay, now since that is covered....

I wish I could post as many pictures as I can~but the food was all amazing!  I am so surprised that an airline could have such great food for Vegans!  They were very attentive to my Vegan needs, and never made it seem like it was an inconvience.  I highly recommend Delta for Vegans!

I even went as far as dehydrating bananas, and apples and made my own granola since I'm also clean eating~so I could be sure that I'd have something on hand for when it was time to eat again..

My husband was sent to Amsterdam for Business~which means I got to come and spend the time to see the sites myself when he was working.  I was so excited to see all the Vegetarian and Vegan-Friendly places that there is in Europe.  (We spent 2 1/2 days in Amsterdam, Netherlands...24 hours in Brugges, Belgium...2 1/2 days in London~yes we were on the London Eye the DAY BEFORE the Olympic Torch was on it!!  Plus we saw Olympic Park....Then we took a cruise/overnight Ferry back to Rotterdam, Netherlands...then a train from Rotterdam to Amsterdam, then flew home.)  LMAO!!  We were very busy!

Unfortunately, I had to do more Vegetarian since when I was dining with my Carnivore, I could not get Vegan options...But I remember this place in London we ate dinner at...O.M.G, I had the BEST Vegetarian Lasagne I've ever had!  The "Meat" was made of corn.  It LOOKED like meat, FELT like ground meat and TASTED exactly like meat!  Oh, so yummy!!  I seriously would go back to London, just to eat it again there!

I really just wish that we could have such great options almost everywhere we ate here also.  I know that places to eat are coming around and are offering 1 or 2 vegetarian options, but it would be great if more would get on board.  We have a place here called Red Robin, which I love, because it's a total burger place.  But they cater to vegetarians also.  You can have anything that is on their menu and just ask for a meatless burger.  It makes you feel like you are one of the group.  LOL!!  I usually get the meatless burger with the mushrooms and onions.  Yum!

Needless to say, we had a really great time!  I am still going strong!  I even switched up my protein powder.  I use to sell Visalus shakes~but since being Vegan the majority of the time, the shakes were hurting my stomach (I guess because my body is now use to a bigger/stronger plant diet vs. dairy). So I stopped promoting my shakes, and just bought the Garden of Life Raw Vegan Protein powder for after my workouts.  (I got the chocolate), it tastes yummy!  There IS a bit of texture, like seeds~so I will just suck it up to seeds in the powder.  LOL!!  I think I may start incorporating Raw also into my new lifestyle...

now I just need to find a tofu press....oh the agony!!!

Vote no 2. I loved this, Pentamom, since I am European! Holland and Belgium are wonderful places to visit, aren't they? But sadly their cuisine is heavily meat-based (getting better than it used to be though!) And London has a ton of excellent veggie restaurants: can you remember the name of the place you had the lasagne, out of interest?
