Apple Butter Thumbprint Cookies

Experiencing or dreaming about the changing of the seasons? Look no further. This gorgeous and classic cookies are sure to delight you and yours. This recipe is deeply reminiscent of Fall. Serve these up with a warm steaming cup of something delicious, and basque in the cool autumn air. Apple butter is just one of those fantastic, perfect concoctions we can all thank the universe for. These cookies are simple and you won't believe just how delicious they truly are. 


  • 2 Cups rolled oats
  • 4 Cups raw cashews
  • ½ Cup applesauce
  • ½ Cup brown sugar
  • 2 T cinnamon
  • 2 t vanilla extract
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 pint apple butter


  1. Pulse oats and cashews in a food processor until fine.
  2. Put in a large bowl and add remaining ingredients but the apple butter.
  3. Drop by teaspoonfuls on a cookie sheet and imprint with your thumb in center to create a well.
  4. Fill with apple butter and bake at 375 for 15 minutes.


Now enjoy these lovely and charming cookies with a cup of tea! You'll be falling for them in no time!
