A Healthy Raw Veganism Journey

Raw veganism is an increasingly popular dietary trend. It helps people to stay healthy while eating food in its most natural state. Followers of this practice believe it helps them to feel more lively and pure, since they consume food that is purer. A typical raw vegan diet will be composed exclusively of fruits and vegetables, along with various other foods that are not derived from animals like nuts, seeds, herbs and more. The main rule of this diet that separates it from traditional veganism is that raw vegans cannot eat food that has been cooked at any temperature above 118 °F.

The principles behind raw veganism stem from the notion that someone who eats food in such a natural way will enjoy various spiritual and biological benefits. Viktoras Kulviskas, co-founder of the Hippocrates Health Institute located in West Palm Beach, says that diets which are rich in sugars and fats work by sedating people. However, he believes that eating should be a lively and engaging activity, designed to boost our own vitality levels. After many years of nutritional research, Kulvinskas embarked on a raw vegan diet and never looked back, claiming that this way of eating has made him happier than ever before.

This diet might not be for everyone but it offers plenty of health benefits. Experts can’t argue against the positive effects of eating more natural foods like beans, fruits and seeds compared to processed junk food and sugar-rich options. To try this diet out, new practitioners will need to take things slowly, as the shock of such drastic dietary changes can have some difficult effects on the human body. Kulvinskas recommends that newcomers first spend some time eating a vegetarian diet and allow their body to get used to the changes.

If you’re ready to begin your raw veganism journey, a great way to start is by eating a salad for breakfast. Salads offer plenty of scope for variety, with so many different fruits and vegetables that can be added to the mix each day. Start off with some peppers, onions, fennel seeds and more, combined with your favorite leafy green veggies like kale or spinach. You can even throw some nuts and beans into the salad to help provide your daily protein intake. This is the perfect way to start a day, with plenty of essential vitamins and minerals being provided by a salad.

It’s also important to realize that a raw vegan diet still allows you to eat a myriad of meals. You can still eat pasta for example, as long as the pasta is made from vegetable-based sources like zucchinis. You can add your own oils, nuts, spices and herbs to create new dishes to suit your diet. Other foods like sprouts and avocados will greatly help to make your diet complete. There are a lot of ways you can make a raw vegan diet varied and fun, so mix things up to fully enjoy the benefits of this healthy journey.
