I don’t know about you, but I love a good dip for my homemade tortilla chips or some veggie sticks. I know it’s probably healthier to eat without the dip, but these are actually pretty darn tasty AND healthy.
World’s Best Guacamole
Who doesn’t love guacamole? It’s full of healthy fat and vitamins, so this is actually really good for you. But I don’t make just any old mashed avocado with lemon juice . . . This is my absolute favorite recipe for avocadoes!
2 avocadoes, cut into chunks
1 tomato, chopped fine
1 Tblsp. Cilantro, minced
1 Tblsp. Green onion, minced
1/2 tsp. Dried oregano
Juice of 1 lime
Salt to taste
Toss all the ingredients together. I mash it just a little to make the avocado a bit squashy and it works better for scooping up with chips. Yum!
Vegan Ranch Dressing
I know a lot of people miss things like Ranch dressing when going vegan, but with this tasty recipe, you don’t have to. And, it’s really, really good on veggies. You could use it as a dressing, I suppose, but I usually just dip.
1 c. Vegan mayonnaise
1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
1/2 tsp. Onion salt
1/2 tsp. Dried oregano
1/2 c. almond milk
2 tsp. Fresh parsley, minced
Black pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients and chill overnight to let the flavors blend.
Roasted Red Pepper Hummus
You can use jarred roasted red peppers, but they are really easy to make yourself. I usually do 3-4 at a time and keep them in the fridge for recipes like this. Just rub the peppers with oil and put on a baking sheet in a 300° oven. Turn every 8-10 minutes until the outside skin is charred and the pepper is collapsing on itself. Peel, deseed and chop. Presto! Easy peasy.
3 c. cooked chickpeas
2 roasted peppers
1/4 c. lemon juice
2 Tblsp. olive oil
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tblsp. tahini paste
salt to taste
Put everything into the food processor and process on high until smooth. Serve with veggies or pita bread.

Voted. I love dips too! I don't think I have had Ranch dressing, but it sounds like something I would really enjoy. Nice blog.
