10 Kinds of Food that Scare Cancer Cells Away

Discovering that you have cancer is one of the scariest events anyone can experience in his lifetime; getting through it is a different story because every day gets tougher as you battle the illness. 1. Cruciferous vegetables

Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, bokchoy, Brussels sprouts, and kale belong to this category. Aside from being a good source of carotenoids, vitamin C, and fiber, they also contain isothiocyanates, a chemical group which help protect cells from damage, bacteria, and viruses.

2. Soursop

Soursop is low in sodium, cholesterol, saturated fat, and sodium. It also helps lower blood pressure and blood sugar level, as well as boost the immune system. Some studies show that soursop has the capability to target cancer cells and get rid of them. It is also said that it prevents cancer cells from developing for up to 12 types of the disease, such as prostate, colon, pancreatic, lung, and breast cancer.

3. Dark greens

Dark greens such as spinach and romaine lettuce are rich in fiber, a mineral that encourages healthy bowel movement. Salvestrols are nutritional compounds found in artichoke, and these are responsible for destroying cancer cells within 30 minutes after entering the body while keeping healthy cells as they are. Flavonoids called pigenin and luteolin are also present in artichoke which, when used as pre-treatment for 24 hours, can kill pancreatic cancer cells along with chemotheraphy. Pancreatic cancer is known to be one of the most aggressive types of cancer, so those who have it can benefit from helpings of this vegetable.

6. Flaxseed

Flaxseed and its oil have been used for treating men in the early stages of prostate cancer. It also weakens estrogen which is responsible for developing cancers such as breast cancer. Flaxseed also has antioxidants that help in slowing down the growth of cancer cells.

7. Legumes

Legumes such as beans, peas, and lentils contain saponins which prevent the reproduction of cancer cells. Chemicals such as protease inhibitors and phytic acids are also present in legumes and impede the growth of tumors. Beans are natural sources of fiber which lowers the risk of developing colorectal cancer.

8. Berries

Berries contain high amounts of ellagic acid which prevents the growth of tumors. Blueberries, in particular, release compounds that cause cancer cells to destroy itself in the liver. Cranberries were reported to be a good prevention against ovarian cancer.

9. Green tea

Polyphenols in green tea block proteins that are responsible for tumor growth and migration. This substance is an antioxidant which helps get rid of unwanted chemicals in the body. Some studies show that green tea lowers the risk of developing breast and prostate cancers.

10. Tomatoes

Tomatoes are a lycopene-rich fruit. The flavenoid lycopene boosts the immune system to fight against free radicals that may damage cells. Lycopene helps prevent cancer cells from multiplying by inducing natural cell death and aptosis in breast, colon, and the prostate.
