Peanut Butter and Jam Breakfast Smoothie

Prep Time: 3-5 minutes

PB & J brings back childhood memories of school lunches for many North Americans. Hopefully these are positive memories, and if they are you may enjoy this drink, which is a take on the popular sandwich and is in no way a blended sandwich. Gross!!

I have recently discovered that oatmeal is an excellent ingredient in smoothies, and one day, while wanting a snack and having very little in the house I saw that I had peanut butter, strawberries and oatmeal. All the ingredients for this smoothie, and so it wizzed together and drunk very quickly.

For 3 big glasses

½ cup oatmeal

2 cups water

½ cup fresh or frozen strawberries

1 -2 tbsp peanut butter

Combine all ingredients to a blender and blend until the strawberries are indistinguishable and you left with a pink paste. The longer you leave this drink, the thicker it will get, so you may need to blend with more water if you are not going to drink it right away.

Voted. This sounds deliciously decadent! I love the idea of basing it on a sandwich filling too.

I voted before reading it - the title was enough. And yes, it is quick, easy, and yes, is like a PB and J sandwich. Yum. Please read my new post, Just These Two to Start, and vote if you like it.
