When the craving strikes for some ice cream, there are many vegan options available at your disposal. Best of all, you can make some healthy frozen treats right at home!
- 1. Just Add Fruit
Peel some of your favorite fruits, such as bananas, and pop them into the freezer. When they are very cold and hard, place them into your blender. Make sure you mix them up until they are creamy and then add in some other ingredients that you want for extra taste, such as nuts or seeds.
- 2. Pack it with a Superfood Punch
Indulging in some ice cream doesn’t have to be a total diet disaster. Make sure you add some healthy ingredients to your ice cream serving to earn some nutritious benefits from your decadent treat. Think superfruits like blueberries and cranberries, and/or chia seeds.
- 3. Just Add Coconut Milk
Coconut milk is a great ingredient for making creamy vegan ice cream. Here is a simple recipe you can try. What you'll need:
- 2 cans of full-fat coconut milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup strong coffee
- ice cream maker
All you need to do is blend the sugar, coffee and coconut milk in a saucepan. Let the mixture simmer on heat, all the time stirring it well. After about ten minutes, take it off the stove and pop it into your fridge for about seven hours. Then, place it in your ice cream maker, letting it get churned up for about 15 minutes. Finally, pour it into a container and place it into the freezer for a few hours to set. Yum!
- 4. Raw Scrumptious Dessert
Soft serve is really easy to make on a raw diet. Just add a frozen banana (or other fruit of your choice), a tablespoon of almond butter, and a tablespoon of raw cocoa powder to your food processor. When it’s smooth, take it out and enjoy!
