Easy 3 Ingredient Vegan Beauty Facial Oil

Going natural is a process. It’s not something one can do overnight. The beautiful thing about a vegan lifestyle is the harmony with nature. Modern society is marketed to at every turn. Marketing is a very powerful medium for sellers to sell their products. It’s our job as consumers to make sure they are selling us an ethical and quality product. When in doubt, natural is best.

When it comes to skin care, beauty corporations will promise anything to sell their product. Some people spend hundreds of dollars on miracle creams that really aren’t miracles. It’s mostly the placebo that makes you feel like a miracle is happening on your skin.

If you’re looking for a honest and vegan way to moisturize your skin, we have a 3 ingredient base recipe for a facial beauty oil. This beauty oil will moisturize your skin and can be used in the morning or night on a cleansed face.

You will need 3 ingredients plus a glass dropper bottle.

1. Base Oil

Your base oil will be the majority of the entire beauty oil, about 2/3 of your glass dropper bottle. You can go with what you already have in your home or choose the one that is best for your skin type and buy new. The best base oils are:

Argan Oil

Pure argan oil is extracted from the fruit of the argan tree which is native to the North African country of Morocco. The argan fruit looks somewhat like an almond and is rich with oil. It contains nutrients such as vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids which are ideal for moisturizing and healing. The argan tree was previously under threat from deforestation but because argan oil has gained popularity, the argan tree has regained it’s life back into the Moroccan landscape. This oil is excellent for all skin types but ideal for dry skin.

Jojoba Oil

For a less traveled oil, jojoba is extracted from the jojoba shrub which is native to southern Arizona, southern California and northwestern Mexico. This oil has ancient healing properties going back to the Native Americans, as they used it to heal wounds. The nut is also similarly sized to an almond and is made up of 50% oil. Jojoba oil is hearty and packed with nutrients such as Vitamin A, B, zinc and copper. Jojoba oil also contains iodine, which is a very healing compound. This oil is also good for all skin types.

Other oils that make for a great base include pecan oil, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, hempseed oil and apricot kernel oil.

It is recommended to search for natural oil pressers in your area. For example, if you live close to a pecan farm or almond farm. Feel free to seek their pressed version.

2. Nourishing Extract Oils

Your second ingredient will be an extract oil that is extremely nourishing. These oils are an investment but because they are so nourishing, they are worth it. After you have filled your glass dropper bottle about 2/3 full with the base oil, you will fill the bottle almost to the top with your nourishing extract oil leaving room for your essential oil. Note: if you are using carrot seed oil, only put 2 to 3 drops as it's a very potent oil.

Amazing nourishing extract oils include:

Carrot Seed Oil

Extracted from the seeds of wild carrots, this oil is known for it’s skin healing powers. Carrot seed oil contains carotene and vitamin A. The oil acts as a great antioxidant and detoxifier. Good for all skin types.

Rosehip Oil

Extracted from the seeds of a rosa moschata bush, this oil is rich in fatty acids which helps hydrate and repair the skin. This oil does have anti-aging properties and is good for all skin types.

Evening Primrose

Extracted from flowers also known as suncups, which are native to the Americas. Evening primrose is a powerful extract that is used to treat skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema because it contains fatty acids and gamma linolenic acid (GLA).

3. Essential Oil

Now for the scent part of your vegan beauty oil. This is where you can get creative. After you have filled your bottle up with your base and extract oils, add in 4 to 8 drops of your preferred essential oil and shake. Some of the best essential oils for your face that also smell amazing are:

Lavender

Lavender has some healing properties as it assists in cell rejuvenation. Lavender also aids in relaxing the skin. Lavender essential oil is good for all skin types.

Geranium

Geranium has a few super powers. It helps balance facial oils and helps regulate an even skin tone. Geranium essential oil is great for skin that is prone to acne and oily skin.

Rose

Rose is romantic but it also contains antimicrobial compounds that help give the skin texture and tone. Rose essential oil is good for aging and dry skin types.

Ylang Ylang

Ylang Ylang essential oil is great for skin rejuvenation and wrinkle prevention. It also helps in balancing out the oil, preventing from breakouts. Ylang Ylang is great for all skin types.

Mixing instructions:

Fill the glass dropper bottle with base oil to about 2/3 full. Follow by almost topping of the bottle with the nourishing extract oil, leaving room for essential oil. (remember if you are using carrot seed oil, only use a few drops instead). Lastly, finish your beauty oil with 4-8 drops of your preferred essential oil. Shake before every use.

Conclusion

This easy 3 ingredient vegan beauty facial is a great stepping stone to natural beauty and a gateway to the world of natural products. Exploring the natural world gives you control of what you put on your face.
