Brownies You Don’t Need to Bake

This recipe was created out of my need to have something sweet for the weekend with my hubby. Since I didn’t have many ingredients, I had to work with minimum resources. My favorite type of “cooking”. This time we are not even going to cook. We are just going to mix 3 very simple ingredients and use our imagination for the decoration. Sounds easy, right? That’s because it is!

Here is the list of ingredients:

  • 1 cup of nuts *
  • About 10 dates or more if you are a real sweet tooth
  • About ½ cup of cacao or carob powder
  • Pinch of sault
  • Something for decoration: goji berries, almonds, coconut , raspberries…

*Whichever you have.I used walnuts because they are oily enough. And when I say cup, I mean a tea cup!

Grind nuts in a blender and set them aside. Now grind dates and add them to the bowl. Start making the dough with your hands. If it is too dry, just slightly wet your fingers but do not add water to the dough. Slowly add spoon by spoon of cacao until you get the taste you want. Don’t forget to add sault somewhere in the process. Set the dough in a pan, decorate it with what you want and VOILA! Your cake is done in just a couple of minutes!

Tip: If you are using almonds or some other nuts that are not as oily as walnuts, add just a pinch of oil. But that only if you really can’t make a dough. Avoid olive oil for this recipe as it adversely affects the flavor.

Can wait to see more blogs on vegan Life Style. There should be more blogs like this so that people can see the beautiful, fast and simple ways to eat healthy food.
