Almond Lychee Soda

Prep Time: 5 minutes

This has got to be one of the easiest and most refreshing drinks that I have ever consumed. While wandering around the streets of Singapore I discovered this gem from several different hawker stalls. It sounded interesting so I decided to try it, and was hooked! Singapore is a very hot city, so it is important to drink constantly and there is no shortage of juice stands. Originally I tried this juice with longan, a small hard shelled fruit that tastes similar to lychee but more dry. Because longan are hard to find in some places, I have substituted this recipe for lychee.

For one serving

4 tbsp almond syrup

4 lychee, peeled and pitted

carbonated water

Pour the almond syrup and lychee into a glass and top off with carbonated water. This combo of flavours is otherworldly!

Vote no 4. It sounds wonderful. You certainly like your beverages, don't you?! I don't know where I can get almond syrup from, but I would love to try this.

There is a really tasty almond syrup called "Orzata." You can find it at Italian grocery stores.

Try it out! But It may not blend well with the fizzy water since it is oil...

Great post!! Voted! Just a quick question, though - did you get paid for this post? I still haven't received my money for the last one I posted and I don't understand what is going on. I keep sending them messages and they never answer.

Not yet, but I'm sure it is just because it will come :) It's just a bit more lazy this time of year.

Yep, my last payment was delayed as well by several days, and I just received it today! So I expect they are all on their way. They have probably not been sent out immediately this time of year because of the Xmas break. It is also related to time zones; I think I am several hours ahead of you here in the UK, Annie! So I got my payment first. So hang in there, and don't stop writing for TFV! I have a blog idea for Rolling Without Limits btw, so I will let you know when I post there (once I have got round to writing it). I haven't been on the Net much over the last week, been too busy.

Got it and am back. I got a bit worried because I always get the ofhorse payments right on track. They're very disciplined but the TFV crew is different...
